Barney Oldfield was inducted into the Motor Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. He brought racing to the common man and he drove at speeds almost unheard of at the time. His rebel ways brought him scorn from race organizers and rich car owners. He was a pioneer and one of the fathers of modern racing.
